Hong Kong Trip Part 8: Montane Mansion, North Point (Chun Yeung Street Market) and Causeway Bay

I traveled to Hong Kong for five days and four nights in the end of November for the first time in five years. While there is a lot of scenery which has been unchanged, I find out something new whenever I visit Hong Kong. In this article, I will write about Montane Mansion, North Point (Chun Yeung Street Market) and Causeway Bay as part of Day 3.

Around Tai Koo Station

Following the previous post, I left Ocean Park and moved to MTR Tai Koo station. Trams ran along King’s Road in front of the station and I took photos around here.

The reason why I came to Tai Koo station, which is not necessarily popular among tourists, is because I would like to visit Montane Mansion (海景樓).

Montane Mansion (海景樓)

After I walked west for about 5 minutes from Tai Koo station, the entrance of Montane Mansion (海景樓) came into sight.

Montane Mansion (海景樓) is just a residence, but has became famous recently since the mansion was used as a filming location of “Transformers: Age of Extinction” and Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze, a French photographer, released photos of Montane Mansion (海景樓) via SNS.

Actually, when I visited Montane Mansion (海景樓), I saw several tourists who took photos around the mansion.

Tram Snaps

After I left Montane Mansion (海景樓), I moved to the next destination, North Point, by tram. Here are some snap photos with trams around Montane Mansion (海景樓).

These photos were taken around North Point.

Chun Yeung Street Market (春秧街)

I visited North Point to stop by Chun Yeung Street Market (春秧街).

Chun Yeung Street is an outdoor market where there are a variety of shops such as fresh food and clothing. The highlight of the market is that trams bound for North Point run in the middle of the market.

This is the terminal station of North Point.

I walked around the market.

I took tram photos in the market.

Causeway Bay (銅鑼湾)

I moved west from North Point by tram and got off at Causeway Bay (銅鑼湾).

Causeway Bay (銅鑼湾) is one of the famous shopping areas in Hong Kong with large department stores, brand shops and restaurants.

Causeway Bay (銅鑼湾) was full of energy with both local people and tourists.

Fashion Walk, a fancy shopping mall.

SOGO, a landmark of Causeway Bay (銅鑼湾).

Times Square is another landmark of Causeway Bay (銅鑼湾).

Ho Hung Kee Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop (何洪記粥麺専家)

Now I will have a dinner. I visited “Ho Hung Kee Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop (何洪記粥麺専家)” in Hysan Place, a shopping mall.

I ordered seafood congee.

Then, I will walk around Causeway Bay and Wan Chai in the evening.

While Causeway Bay is popular for tourists, they may not visit east areas from Causeway Bay. However, Montane Mansion and North Point are suitable for tourists who like photography. So, I recommend these areas especially for repeaters 🙂
