[Introduction]

I traveled to Okinawa for four days and three nights. This time, I visited Okinawa Main Island, mainly Naha area. My concern was that I don’t drive, which might make my trip difficult, but I enjoyed the trip very much by using monorail and taking bus tours. In this article, I will write about breakfast at Hotel Rocore Naha and Naminoue Beach, Fukushuen Garden and Shikinaen Garden as part of Day 2.

[Main Part]

The second day of my Okinawa trip has started. To begin with, I will have a breakfast.

Breakfast at Hotel Rocore Naha

As I mentioned in the past article, I chose Hotel Rocore Naha for my Okinawa trip for the following two reasons. First, the hotel is located near the Prefectural Office Station, which is the central area of Naha city. Second, the hotel is famous for its breakfast – the hotel has been chosen as the “best breakfast hotel” in Okinawa for three years running by TripAdvisor.

The venue for breakfast was at “Aletta” on the second floor.Hotel Rocore Naha Aletta

The restaurant starts at 6:30 a.m. and when I reached it, there were already several people who were waiting for breakfast. In addition to Japanese and Western cuisine, a variety of Okinawa local food was served. For example,

Kokusai Street Snaps

After breakfast, I just took a stroll around Kokusai street. I planed to go around Kokusai street this afternoon and the weather forecast predicted it would become cloudy around noon, so I decided to take photos of Kokusai street with sunny condition in the morning.

Naminoue Beach

Fukushuen Garden

When I returned from Naminoue Beach, I stopped by Fukushuen Garden.Naha Fukushuen Garden1

Fukushuen Garden is a traditional Chinese garden in Naha city. The garden was constructed in 1992, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the sister city relationship between Naha and Fuzhou in China.

Shikinaen Garden

I left Fukushuen Garden and took a local bus to move to Shikinaen Garden.""

Shikinaen Garden was built around 1799 as one of the residences for rulers of the Ryukyu Kingdom. It was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on December 2, 2000, as a part of the site group Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu.

[Closing]

That’s it for the article about breakfast at Hotel Rocore Naha and Naminoue Beach, Fukushuen Garden and Shikinaen Garden as part of Day 2 of my Okinawa trip.

Regarding Hotel Rocore Naha, I totally agree that the hotel has been chosen as the “best breakfast hotel” in Okinawa for three years running by TripAdvisor. I stayed in Hotel Rocore Naha for three nights and I didn’t get tired of breakfast thanks to its variety of food. Talking of “best breakfast hotel”, La Vista Hakodate Bay it also famous for its breakfast. If you are interested in it, please see the following article.

As for Naminoue Beach, Fukushuen Garden and Shikinaen Garden, how about adding them as tourist spots in addition to Shurijo Castle and Kokusai street. In guidebooks, Shurijo Castle and Kokusai street are often featured as tourist spots in Naha city, but I would say Naminoue Beach, Fukushuen Garden and Shikinaen Garden are also good 🙂

In the next article, I will write about Kokusai Street as part of Day 2.

  1. Hi, could you kindly provide how and where you found local bus lines for each destination? I will be visiting Okinawa in April with my mom and will not be driving. I would love to take my mom to all the beautiful places you visited. Thank you! ~Karen

      (3) Shikinaen Garden
It took about 20 minutes from central Naha by bus numbers 2, 5 or 14.

Frankly speaking, I think local bus is complicating for foreign tourists, so I would recommend you can use taxi instead, if you don’t mind. I hope my information will be of some help 🙂
