[Introduction]
I traveled to Okinawa for four days and three nights. This time, I visited Okinawa Main Island, mainly Naha area. My concern was that I don’t drive, which might make my trip difficult, but I enjoyed the trip very much by using monorail and taking bus tours. In this article, I will write about light-up at Shurijo Park and Oppa Ice Gelato as part of Day 1.

[Main Part]
I left Shurijo Castle Park temporarily. I planned to revisit it in the evening to see its light-up, so I will have a dinner before that.
Oppa Ice Gelato Shurijo Castle Outlet
To begin with, I stopped by “Oppa Ice Gelato Shurijo Castle Outlet” before dinner.
Talking of ice cream in Okinawa, “Blue Seal” is popular and there are lots of outlets around Okinawa. I heard “Oppa Ice” is also very tasty, so I decided to visit its outlet.
In the outlet.
I ordered milk ice gelato and iced cafe latte.
I also bought “Oppa milk”.
Ryukyu Sabo Ashibiuna
I had a dinner at “Ryukyu Sabo Ashibiuna”.
“Ryukyu Sabo Ashibiuna” serves traditional Okinawa cuisine.
There are veranda sheets.
I ordered “Nakayama Dai-ichi Gozen”. Here is the appetizer.
Here is the main dish.
“Nakayama Dai-ichi Gozen” provides a variety of Okinawa food with small portion. So if you would like to eat whole Okinawa food, but would like to avoid large volume, “Nakayama Dai-ichi Gozen” at “Ryukyu Sabo Ashibiuna” might be a good option.
Light-up at Shurijo Castle Park
After dinner, I will take evening and night view photos around Shurijo Castle Park. For more information at each spot, please see the previous article. Please note I changed white balance frequently, so color setting varied by photos.
First, view of Shurijo Castle from Ryutan Pond.
This boulding is Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts.
From here, photos were taken in Shurijo Castle Park. To begin with, Shureimon Gate.
Kankaimon Gate.
Koufukumon Gate.
Houshinmon Gate. The paid area started from here.
Garden.
Backside of the garden.
I left the paid area and returned to the free area.
Kyukeimon Gate.
I returned to Shureimon Gate. It has got dark.
I started to use my tripod.
Benzaitendo and Enkanchi Pond.
Moon was seen over my head.
I passed Shureimon Gate and left Shurijo Castle Park.
Then, I dropped by Ryutan Pond.
I went back to the hotel by monorail.
Here is “Oppa Milk” I bought at “Oppa Ice Gelato Shurijo Castle Outlet”.
[Closing]
That’s it for the article about light-up at Shurijo Park and Oppa Ice Gelato as part of Day 1 of my Okinawa trip.
Regarding light-up at Shurijo Park, please note the operating hours varies between the paid area and the free area. In addition, the operating hours changes by season.
As for Oppa Ice Gelato, it was one of the best rich-tasting ice creams I have ever eaten. If you have a chance to visit Okinawa and see an outlet of Oppa Ice Gelato, I would recommend you stop by it 🙂
In the next article, I will write about Naminoue Beach & Fukushuen Garden & Shikinaen Garden as part of Day 2.

What camera are you using? The colour is bright and intense. Love it.
Hi Wendy, thank you for your comment and compliment. I am using SONY’s α7 iii 🙂
