[Introduction]
I traveled to Shanghai, China, in late May. If I had been fluent in Chinese, I could have enjoyed the trip more, but I was impressed with a fine mixture of retro and modern elements in Shanghai. In this article, I will write about evening scene in Yuyuan (豫园) as part of Day 4. Talking of night view in Shanghai, the former settlements of “Waitan”and skyscrapers in “Pudong” are the most famous spots, but lighted-up “Yuyuan (豫园)” was also fantastic.

Light-up in Yuyuan (豫园)
In the final night of my Shanghai trip, I will revisit “Yuyuan (豫园)”, which I visited on the third day morning (see the related article), to take light-up photos.
While the garden of “Yuyuan (豫园)” was already closed, “Yuyuan Tourist Mart (豫园商城)”, a commercial district, was still open in the evening.
It was rainy all day today, but now it stopped raining.
An object of “I Love Yuyuan”.
I saw lots of tourists taking photos around there.
I left the main street and walked around the surround area.
As it stopped raining, I took a photo with a puddle.
I returned to “Yuyuan Tourist Mart (豫园商城)”.
It was easy to go around as the rain stopped.
A walkway along “Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant (南翔馒头店)”, a famous steamed bun restaurant.
Like a frame.
“Huxin Pavilion (The Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse)”, the most popular photo spot in “Yuyuan (豫园)”, was also lighted up.
View of “Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant (南翔馒头店)” from “Huxin Pavilion (The Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse)”.
There was a small boat near “Huxin Pavilion (The Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse)”.
“Huxin Pavilion (The Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse)” was photogenic from wherever I took photos.
From under a tree.
I will stroll around a street near the garden.
Most shops were already open in the morning when visited “Yuyuan (豫园)” on the third day, and they were still open in the evening.
Actually, I saw lots of visitors in the evening.
I bought some souvenirs at this shop.
I came to around “Huxin Pavilion (The Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse)”.
I was surprised to see there were lots of tourists even at this time.
Lastly, I will take photos of “Huxin Pavilion (The Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse)” again.
The light-up color changed as time passed, so I wish I could watch it for long.
The surround spots were also photogenic.
Then, I left lighted-up “Yuyuan (豫园)”.
Finally, as just an extra photo, this is an advertisement I happened to see at a subway station on the way to the hotel.
The fourth day of my Shanghai trip was over, and the next day is the final day of the trip.
[Closing]
That’s it for the article about evening scene in Yuyuan (豫园) as part of Day 4.
Speaking of night view in Shanghai, the former settlements of “Waitan” (see the related article) and skyscrapers in “Pudong” (see the related article) are the most famous spots, but light-up in “Yuyuan (豫园)” was also attractive. Although it has been relatively commercialized as a tourist site, the area reproduces the image of traditional China well and becomes more fantastic due to light-up, so why don’t you visit “Yuyuan (豫园)” in the evening?
In the next article, I will write about Great World (Dashijie), Jing’an Temple and Shanghai Exhibition Center as part of Day 5.
