[Introduction]
I traveled to Kaohsiung, the second largest city in Taiwan for five days and four nights in the middle of September. I was impressed by Taiwan when I visited Taipei at the end of April, and I revisited Taiwan in less than a half year. I had some difficulties in gathering information compared to Taipei, but I found there were lots of things to do in Kaohsiung as well. In this article, I will write about 85 Sky Tower and evening view at Singuang Ferry Wharf as part of Day 1.

85 Sky Tower Observation Deck
Following the previous post, I moved from Formosa Boulevard station to Sanduo Shopping District station by MRT (Red Line). I am gong to 85 Sky Tower.
85 Sky Tower is a skyscraper, which was built in 1997 with 85 stories above the ground and 5 underground stories. It is the tallest building in Kaohsiung city and the second largest after Taipei 101 in Taiwan.
Entrance of 85 Sky Tower. There is a hotel (85 Sky Tower Hotel) in the building.
Observation deck is located on the 74th floor and I moved there by elevator.
View from the observation deck.
At the observation deck.
I found a mascot character.
This is “Hero”, Kaohsiung bear. He/She is appointed as tourism ambassador in Kaohsiung.
Kaohsiung Public Library
After I left 85 Sky Tower, I stopped by Kaohsiung Public Library.
Kaohsiung Public Library was opened in 2014. In Taiwan, Eslite Bookstore is famous for its fancy design and I heard the library has a similar atmosphere, so I decided to visit it.
Entrance of the library.
It is something like a fancy bookstore rather than an ordinal library.
The rooftop is open for public as an observation space. The left building is 85 Sky Tower.
Here are Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and Singuang Ferry Wharf which I am going to right after this.
Kaohsiung Exhibition Center
Then, I visited Kaohsiung Exhibition Center.
Kaohsiung Exhibition Center is a convention center and characterized by its unique shape.
I just happened to know it before the trip and found it very attractive. So, I decided to visit it.
With 85 Sky Tower.
I am moving to the opposite side.

Evening View at Singuang Ferry Wharf
At the back of Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, Singuang Ferry Wharf is located. Now it was around sunset, I took evening photos around here.
There were people who enjoyed fishing.
It was really magic hours.
I have rarely seen such a beautiful evening view.
Then, I continued to take night photos around Singuang Ferry Wharf and I will write about it in the next article.
[Closing]
That’s it for the article about 85 Sky Tower and evening view at Singuang Ferry Wharf as part of Day 1 of my Taiwan Kaohsiung trip.
85 Sky Tower is the second largest building in Taiwan, next to Taipei 101, so I was a little bit worried that there would be lots of tourists. However, the number of tourists was less than I expected, so I was able to go around it without any stress. If you would like to avoid the crowd, I would recommend 85 Sky Tower 🙂
By the way, if you are interested in Taipei 101, please check the following article.

In the next article, I will write about Singuang Ferry Wharf (night view) and Liuhe Night Market as part of Day 1.
