[Introduction]
I traveled to Fukuoka, in mid December. While Fukuoka has an image of gourmet town, it has also tourist spots more than I expected. In this article, I will write about illumination around Hakata Station “Hikari-no-machi Hakata” as part of Day 3. In “Hikari-no-machi Hakata”, about 800,000 light bulbs were used for light-up and I enjoyed a variety of winter illumination including the symbol tree.

Hakata Deitos “Hakata Noodle Street” ShinShin
Following the previous post, I returned from Hakata-Minami station to Hakata station.
There was “Hakata Noodle Street” on second floor of “Hakata Deitos” in the JR Hakata City, a commercial complex directly connected to Hakata station, and I will have dinner there.
Among the 11 noodle shops, I visited “ShinShin”.
I ordered ramen with boiled egg.
“Hikari-no-machi Hakata”
After dinner, I will watch “Hikari-no-machi Hakata” around Hakata station.
“Hikari-no-machi Hakat” is a winter illumination held at JR Hakata Station Square, and it was the 9th event.
So, let’s go around the event.
This was “Hikari-no-mori (luminary forest)” area and about 50 trees were illuminated with blue lights.
The logo of “JR HAKATA CITY” become more attractive due to light-up.
This large “symbol tree” was introduced for the first time this time.
As I visited the site on Saturday, there were lots of visitors.
In addition, a Christmas market was held.
From wherever I took photos centering around the symbol tree, I found every picture was impressive.
I will go to the upper floors.
On the rooftop garden.
A walkway on the second floor.
Views from the walkway were very spectacular.
From a lateral side.
Visitors enjoyed taking photos.
A stage show was also held on the first floor.
A panoramic view at a distance.
Lastly, I took a photos with “Wish Bouquet” objects.
Then, I returned to the hotel and the third day of my Fukuoka trip was over. The photo below was a snowman in front of the hotel.
[Closing]
That’s it for the article about illumination around Hakata Station “Hikari-no-machi Hakata” as part of Day 3.
In “Hikari-no-machi Hakata”, about 800,000 light bulbs were used for light-up and I enjoyed a variety of winter illumination including the symbol tree. The downside was that there were lots of visitors, but I believe it’s worth a visit even if it is crowded 🙂
In the next article, I will write about Dazaifu as part of Day 4.
