Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go Late Winter Trip Part 7: Hida Beef Dinner and Night Walk in “Old Town” (Sanmachi)

[Introduction]

I traveled to Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go for three days and two nights. This is my second visit to Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go since I visited them for the first time in September 2014. In addition, I also went to Hida Furukawa, which is the filming locations of “Your name/Kimi no na wa”, a blockbuster Japanese anime film. In this article, I will write about Hida beef dinner and night walk in “Old Town” (Sanmachi) as part of Day 2.

After I checked in the hotel, I went out for dinner. Since Hida Takayama is famous for Hida beef, I decided to have it. There are lots of restaurants that serve Hida beef and I chose Kitchen Hida among them.

Hida Beef Steak at Kitchen Hida

Kitchen Hida has a 50 year history as a restaurant specializing in Hida Beef dishes.

In the restaurant.

Creamed corn soup.

I ordered Tenderloin Steak (100g, A5 rank) based on my policy of “quality over quantity”.

The steak was very tender and delicious.

Evening View around Sanmachi

After dinner, I walked around Sanmachi area.

Takayama Jinya.

Nakabashi bridge.

“Old Town” Sanmachi.

Most of the shops were already closed or about to be closed.

This was a branch of a local bank.

The branch was opened just a year ago.

A local shopping street.

There was a shrine along the street.

Sarubobo, the local mascot of Hida Takayama.

Now the sun completely went down. I will go around Sanmachi again.

It was very calm around here.

The final shot was Sarubobo.

Then, I returned to the hotel and the second day of Hida Takayama and Shirakawa-go trip was over.
