[Introduction]
I visited Izu area to see early flowering cherry blossoms, called “Kawazu Zakura”. To be more exact, I visited two cherry blossoms festivals, (1) Kawazu Zakura Matsuri and (2) Minami no Sakura to Nanohana Matsuri.
In this article, I will write about Kawazu Zakura Matsuri.

I arrived at Kawazu Station, which is the nearest station to the venue of the festival.
Let’s go into the festival.
Along the Kawazu River
Though expected, there were lots of visitors.
Food stall
I bought “Moffuru”, which is waffle with rice cake.
This area is called “Field mustard road”.

This tree was the original Kawazu Zakura.
Then, I moved to the next spot, “Minami no Sakura to Nanohana Matsuri”.
[Closing]
Actually, the Kawazu Zakura Matsuri seems to be famous among foreign tourists as well as Japanese, so I saw lots of foreign visitors there. It takes about 2-3hours from Tokyo to Izu area by train, so if you have a chance to visit Tokyo, you may consider visiting there as a day excursion trip 🙂
