[Introduction]

Evening Scene of Bay Area (Meriken Park and Harborland)
Following the previous post, I will continue to walk around Bay Area (Meriken Park and Harborland) to take evening photos.
To begin with, Fountain Square. Shows with music were performed regularly.
Kobe Port Tower on the left and Kobe Maritime Museum on the right.
There was a FM radio station “Kiss FM KOBE”.
A sailing ship “Miraie (meaning “To the future”)”.
The building on the left was “Notre Dame Kobe”, a wedding hall.
It was getting dark.
“BE KOBE” monument.
I started to use my tripod from here.
Cruise ship “Luminous Kobe 2” and Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel.
The combination of lighted-up Kobe Port Tower and Kobe Maritime Museum was very photogenic.
I took a photo of “BE KOBE” monument again.
Starbucks was also lighted up, which made the coffee shop more attractive.
View from a walkway near Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel.
Zoom-up of Kobe Port Tower.
On the opposite area (Harborland), there were “Kobe Harborland umie”, a shopping complex, and a ferris wheel, both of which were lighted up as well.
I moved to Harborland area and took a photo of Meriken Park.
“Mosaic” ferris wheel.
Another shot with different shutter speed.
Then, I left Bay Area to return to the hotel.
Takeout Dinner at Chinatown (南京町 Nankinmachi)
As I missed a chance to have dinner, I stopped by Chinatown (南京町 Nankinmachi) on the way to the hotel.
I took out a steamed meat bun etc.
I checked in “Kobe Motomachi Tokyu Rei Hotel”. The hotel was near Chinatown, so it was very convenient.
I ate the steamed meat bun etc. which I bought in Chinatown and the first day of my Kobe trip was over.
[Closing]
That’s it for the article about evening scene of Bay Area (Meriken Park and Harborland) as part of Day 1.
One of the main reasons I decided to visit Kobe was that I had seen several beautiful photos of Bay Area in Kobe in a photo posting site. When I really visited Bay Area, I found it was more than I expected. Bay Area is divided into two areas, Meriken Park and Harborland, and I didn’t have enough time to take evening photos at Harborland this time. So, if I have another chance to visit Kobe, I would like to take more evening photos at Harborland next time 🙂
In the next article, I will write about Kitano Ijinkan-gai as part of Day 2.
