[Introduction]
I traveled to Fukuoka, in mid December. While Fukuoka has an image of gourmet town, it has also tourist spots more than I expected. In this article, I will write about Marine World Uminonakamichi as part of Day 3. “Marine World Uminonakamichi” not only shows a variety of fish, but also has the sea otter pool and the sea lions and dolphins show, so I enjoyed the aquarium fully.

Breakfast at ANA Crowne Plaza Fukuoka and Workout at Gold’s Gym Hakata Riverain
It was the third day of my Fukuoka trip. To begin with, I will have breakfast at ANA Crowne Plaza Fukuoka where I have been staying. It was a buffet-style breakfast and here is what I had today.
After breakfast, I went to “Gold’s Gym Hakata Riverain” following the previous day. I had a workout mainly for the back today.
Marine World Uminonakamichi
In the third day morning, I will visit “Marine World Uminonakamichi” by transferring trains. The photo below was Nishitetsu Kaizuka Line.
I arrived at “Marine World Uminonakamichi”.
“Marine World Uminonakamichi” is a public aquarium opened in 1989. The aquarium exhibits about 350 species and 20,000 marine creatures under the theme of “Sea of Kyushu”.
So let’s go into the aquarium.
As I visited the aquarium on Saturday, I saw lots of families and couples.
Whenever I visit aquariums, I find it difficult to focus a camera.
Hermit crab.
I’d like to know the name of this creature.
This tortoise kept same posture for a long time.
A lot of fish flocked to a rusty framed object.
In addition to real fish, there were several art works like this.
Garden eel (Heteroconger hassi).
A ray was swimming gracefully.
Jellyfish.
I don’t know why, but a wrecked pirate ship came into my head.
I found a colorful impressive fish.
Another shot.
There was a panorama fish tank that passed through the 1st floor and the 2nd one.
I heard about 80 species lived in the fish tank.
A dolphin.
The aquarium had a sea otter pool.
The sea otter gave me a pose.
The aquarium holds shows of sea lions and dolphins every day and I watched it. First, sea lions.
Then, dolphins.
Now I will have lunch. I visited “Reilly” in the aquarium.
I ordered roast pork.
I will left “Marine World Uminonakamichi”.
As the name suggests (“Umi” means “Sea” in Japanese), a panorama of the sea was spreading in front of the aquarium.
I felt as if I were in a Southern resort area.
Now I will move to “JR Uminonakamichi station”.
It was an idyllic scene, wasn’t it?
I took a train photo.
Then, I will return to JR Hakata station.
[Closing]
That’s it for the article about Marine World Uminonakamichi as part of Day 3.
“Marine World Uminonakamichi” not only shows a variety of fish, but also has the sea otter pool and the sea lions and dolphins show, and visitors can enjoy the aquarium fully. There is also “Uminonakamichi Seaside Park” near the aquarium, so I recommend it especially for families 🙂
In the next article, I will write about JR Hakata Station as part of Day 3.
