Hong Kong Trip Part 6: Victoria Peak and Night Walk around Central (中環)

[Introduction]

I traveled to Hong Kong for five days and four nights in the end of November for the first time in five years. While there is a lot of scenery which has been unchanged, I find out something new whenever I visit Hong Kong. In this article, I will write about Victoria Peak and night walk around Central (中環) as part of Day 2.

Victoria Peak

Following the previous post, I moved to Victoria Peak from Central, though the weather was not so good.

There are several options to go to Victoria Peak, including Peak Tram (Cable Car), and I used a mini bus that departed from the underground of Four Seasons Hotel (directly connected to IFC Mall).

To begin with, I walked around Peak Galleria, a shopping mall.

This is the building of Peak Tower.

I passed through Peak Tower for the time being and moved further to Lions Pavilion.

Lions Pavilion was an observation deck built in 1976. Though the observation deck of Lions Pavilion is a little bit lower than that of Peak Tower, but Lions Pavilion is available for free.

Then, I entered into Peak Tower. Peak Tower is a commercial facility that had shops and restaurants as well as a paid observation deck.

One of the shops is “Madame Tussauds Hong Kong”.

I will have a dinner at Peak Tower. I dropped by “Hong Kong Day (香港地)”.

I ordered French toast and milk tea, which seemed to be a signature menu in this restaurant.

After dinner, I moved to the observation deck, “Sky Terrace 428”.

I reached the observation deck.

Just after sunset.

I planned to stay here to watch night view, but it was foggy and started to rain, so I decided to go away.

Lastly, I visited Lions Pavilion again to take a photo and left Victoria Peak.

Night Walk around Central (中環)

I returned to Central.

I took photos with trams around a building where Armani was located.

I moved north.

I visited IFC Mall again.

Apple store.

It was 8 p.m. and I watched “Symphony of Lights” around here.

There was “The Hong Kong Observation Wheel (香港摩天輪)”, but it seemed to be suspended.

Back to Tsim Sha Tsui by Start Ferry

Now I will go back to Tsim Sha Tsui where I am staying. I chose to use Star Ferry instead of MTR.

In the ferry.

The ferry departed from the pier.

I arrived at Tsim Sha Tsui.

I took snaps photos such as “Shanghai Tang” near the hotel and the second day of my Hong Kong trip was over.

I have been to Victoria Peak several times before and the condition was not good this time. Just like Mount Hakodate last year (see the related post), I had little luck when I tried to watch scenery from mountains 🙁 However, I found night view from Star Ferry was beautiful, so I recommend it 🙂
