Going to Kumamoto with Kyushu Reconstruction Discount Tickets: Part 4 Kumamon Square

[Introduction]

I traveled to Kumamoto using “Kyushu Fukko Wari” (Kyushu Reconstruction Discount Tickets). Since I was impressed with Kumamon (the local mascot character of Kumamoto Prefecture) at Yuru-chara Grand Prix 2016, I decided to visit Kumamoto to see how reconstruction has been moving forward after the strong earthquake. In this article, I will write about Kumamon Square as part of Day 2.

After lunch, I walked around the shopping area in the center of Kumamoto city.

Kamitori Shopping Arcade

To begin with, I walked around Kamitori Shopping Arcade.

A chorus group sang songs for Christmas.

I found Kumamon goods.

This was “Komurasaki”, one of the famous Kumamoto Ramen restaurants.

Shimotori Shopping Arcade

Then, I moved to Shimotori Shopping Arcade.

This Karaoke bar has a Kumamon room.

There was an antenna shop of Kumamoto railways.

Since Shimotori Shopping Arcade was the largest entertainment district in Kumamoto, there were a lot of people.

Now I arrived at Kumamon Square.

Let’s get into Kumamon Square.

There were a variety of Kuammon goods.

This was Kumamon Sales Manager office.

There were a lot of pictures, trophies and award certificates in the room.

Kumamon’s show started.

Kikuch-kun, an unofficial mascot character of Kikuchi city in Kumamoto Joined the stage.

They showed “Kumamon exercise”.

After the show, visitors communicate with Kumamon.

I continued to go around Kumamon Square.

I bought this paper fan for souvenir.

This road bike was presented by DE ROSA, when Kumamon visited its factory in Italy in 2015.

Then, I left Kumamon Square.

Coffee shop “Arrow”

I stopped by a coffee shop “Arrow” for a rest.

This coffee shop was famous for its passion to coffee.
