Talking of temples in Onomichi, Senkoji Temple and Tenneji Temple Kaiun-to are the most famous ones, but there are other temples that are worth to visit. In this article, I will write other temples I visited.
Ushitora Shrine
First, Ushitora Shrine, which was located along Neko-no-hosomichi (Cat Trail). There was a huge tree in the shrine. The shrine was famous for filming locations.
There was also a cat in the shrine.
Tenneiji Temple
The next one is Tenneiji Temple. I have written about Tenneiji Temple Kaiun-to several times so far, but the main building was located in another place. Tenneiji has so many statues.
Jodoji Temple
Jodoji Temple was built in 616 and characterized by its red color painting.
Saionji Temple
At Saionji Temple, a pair of huge Zori (Japanese sandal) gained attention from visitors. The temple also had a red three-storied pagoda.
Saigoji Temple
Saigoji Temple had cute stone statues.
Taisanji Temple and Misode-Tenmangu
Tansaji Temple and Misode-Tenmanhu were adjacent each other. In Taisanji Temple, a temple bell was famous for filming locations and there were a unique three monkey statues.
Misode-Tenmangu was also famous for filming locations.
