I visited the following three sightseeing spots in Hirosaki related to Japanese traditions and cultures.
Tsugaru-han Neputa Mura (Neputa Village)
Tsugaru-han Neputa Mura (Neputa Village) is a tourist spot where visitors can experience the Hirosaki Neputa Festival. The fan-shaped Neputa actually used in the festival are exhibited for viewing. Live Tsugaru-shamisen performance are also open for viewing.
Saisyouin Five-story Pagoda
Saisyouin is a buddhist temple with five-story pagoda. The five-story pagoda is designated as a national important cultural asset.
Fujita Memorial Garden
The Fujita Memorial Japanese Garden was built in 1919 in the style of a traditional Japanese landscape garden. The spacious garden is separated into two main parts, an upper section and a lower section.
There is also a western house with tearoom from the Taisho era. In Hirosaki, apple pie is a speciality.
