[Main Part]
Breakfast in Sands Cotai Central (@Rice Empire)
The fourth day of my Macau trip started. I will have breakfast, first.
In Sands Cotai Central where I have been staying, there were several restaurants which were open in the early morning and I visited “Rice Empire” among them.
In the restaurant.
“Rice Empire” served Asian cuisine and I chose “Hainanese Style Chicken Rice (海南雞飯)”.
“Hainanese Style Chicken Rice (海南雞飯)” is a Singapore local dish and I ordered it for a change.
Morning Stroll
Just like the third day, I am going around casino resorts in Cotai area on the fourth day. Many shops don’t open in the early morning, so I will go around the casino resorts I visited on the previous day and take photos of its exteriors, first.
Studio City Macau (related article).
The Parisian Macao (related article).
The Venetian Macao (related article).
And Sands Cotai Central where I have been staying (related article).
In addition, there was “路氹連貫公路圓形地 (Rotunda do Istmo)”, a circle overhead bridge at the northern end of Cotai Strip, the main street in Cotai area.
View from the overhead bridge.
Walking around City of Dreams
From here, I will walk around other casino resorts. I started my stroll from “City of Dreams”. City of Dreams is located as follows.
“City of Dreams (新濠天地)” is a casino resort opened in 2009. It is the second casino resort in Cotai area following the Venetian Macao, which was opened in 2007. City of Dreams is run by “Melco Resorts & Entertainment”, which also runs Studio City Macau.
The exterior.
Let’s go into the building.
Just like other casino resorts, there was a shopping mall and I went around it.
The mall was two-storied and some areas had open ceiling space.
It was cool, wasn’t it?
A retro car.
The car was longer than I imagined.
There are four hotels in City of Dreams and one of them is “Morpheus”.
Morpheus, which was opened in 2018, is the latest hotel in City of Dreams and its design is avant-garde.
I am just wondering how fantastic the view from the elevator is.
Needless to say, there were casinos in City of Dreams.
However, I didn’t step into the casino and just took photos.
There was a restaurant district “SOHO” on the second floor and I will just take a look at it.
It was before lunch time, so many shops were closed when I came here.
Nevertheless, I felt it had good atmosphere and I would like to revisit it if I have another chance.
I returned to the first floor.
I found “Pepper”, a semi-humanoid robot manufactured by SoftBank Robotics.
This is “The Countdown Hotel”, another hotel in City of Dreams.
It used to be “Hard Rock Hotel” and was re-branded in July 2017.
Other snaps.
Finally, I just stopped by the lobby of “Grand Hyatt Macau” and will move to the next destination.
[Closing]
That’s it for the article about City of Dreams as part of Day 4.
From what I have felt so far, casino resorts have different characteristics by its operating companies. For example, the Venetian Macao and the Las Parisian Macao, which are run by Las Vegas Sands, emphasize its luxuriousness while City of Dreams and Studio City Macau, which are managed by the same company, focus on the sense of design. City of Dreams has four hotels and visitors can choose it depending on their budget, so I am thinking of staying here if I have another chance to visit Macau in the future 🙂
In the next article, I will write about MGM Cotai and Wynn Palace as part of Day 4.
