Ehime Matsuyama Trip Part 4: Evening Scene at Matsuyama City Station and Okaido

[Introduction]

traveled to Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture for three days and two nights in late April. This was my sixth trip to Ehime Matsuyama and I was able to enjoy the trip as my first travel since I changed my camera and lens. In this article, I will write about evening scene at Matsuyama City Station and Okaido as part of Day 1.

Matsuyama City Station (松山市駅)

Following the previous post, I returned from Emifull Masaki to Matsuyama City station (松山市駅).

I found a tram which had a two-tone beige and orange pained body.

Two trams were in line.

IYOTETSU Railways has a variety of trams in terms of its body colors and I like this type best.

There was a mailbox of Mican near the station.

One of the spots I would like to visit in this trip was “Botchan train Museum (坊っちゃん列車ミュージアム)”.

“Botchan train Museum (坊っちゃん列車ミュージアム)” was opened in December 2016 on the first floor of the IYOTETSU headquarters. There was also Starbucks and the backroom was a space for exhibition.

Let’s go into the museum.

A full-scale replica of the first steam locomotive was exhibited.

In addition, goods and materials related to Botchan train were exhibited.

Okaido (大街道)

I moved from Matsuyama City station to Okaido (大街道) where I will stay tonight. I found such a equipment of multilingual tourists information.

I am going to stay at “Dormy Inn Matsuyama” on the first day of the trip.

The hotel was opened in December 2017.

I visited “Ankaraan (あんから庵)” for dinner.

It’s a retro Japanese cafe.

I ordered ice shavings, though it might not be suitable for dinner.

Evening Scene at Matsuyama City Station

I went to Matsuyama City station again to take evening photos around there.

The light-up has started.

I just found Yukio Edano, a Japanese politician and the head of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, made a street speech.

Whenever I visited Matsuyama City station, I took pictures from this spot.

This was a new tram carriage.

If you are a railway lover, you can spend all day here without feeling bored.

Evening Scene at Okaido

I came back to Okaido.

Whenever I come to Okaido, I take pictures from this spot.

There was also Starbucks here.

I took a photo from this spot again, as I liked this angle.

Then, I returned to the hotel and the first day of my Ehime Matsuyama trip was over.
