I traveled to Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture for three days and two nights in late April. This was my sixth trip to Ehime Matsuyama and I was able to enjoy the trip as my first travel since I changed my camera and lens. In this article, I will write about Dogo Onsen Hot Spring as part of Day 2.

Dogo Onsen Station (道後温泉駅)
Following the previous post, I moved from Ehime Prefectural Government to Dogo Onsen station. Just after I got off a tram, Botchan train (坊っちゃん列車) reached the station.
The tram with orange and green two-tome color body was the one I took.

As the weather forecast predicted that it would become cloudy in the afternoon, I moved to Dogo Onsen earlier than I planned so that I could take photos while it was sunny.
This was my favorite spot. Whenever I visit Dogo Onsen, I will take pictures from this spot.
An art work was exhibited beside the clock as part of an art festival (“Dogo ONSENART 2018”).
Dogo Sopping Arcade.
Dogo Onsen Honkan (道後温泉本館)
I went through Dogo Shopping Arcade and came to Dogo Onsen Honkan.
There were lots of visitors here.
From various angles.

There were two public bath houses other than Dogo Onsen Honkan. One of them is “Tsubaki-no-yu” (椿の湯).
The other one is “Asuka-no-yu” (飛鳥乃湯泉), which was opened in December 2017.
Now I will have a lunch. When I walked around Dogo Shopping Arcade, I found several new shops and restaurants have been opened since I visited Dogo Onsen last time in November 2016. Among new restaurants, I visited “Hamomeshi-Imaru (鱧めしイ○)”.
In the restaurant.
I ordered “Matsuyama Hamo Mabushi-zen”.
“Shabu-shabu with sea beam” as a starter.
“Hamo Mabushi-zen” as a main dish. Hamo means conger pike.
Dogo Onsen Station (道後温泉駅)
I will take tram train photos around Dogo Onsen station after lunch. Here are some snaps.

Dogo Onsen Honkan (道後温泉本館) Bathing
I will take a bath in Dogo Onsen Honkan (道後温泉本館).
I bought a ticket and went into the facility.
On the first floor.
There were several pictures on the wall.
There were four bathing corses at Dogo Onsen Honkan and I chose “Tama-no-yu (霊の湯) private room on the third floor”.
After I took a bath, I had “Botchan Dango (坊っちゃん団子).
Then, I left Dogo Onsen Honkan.
That’s it for the article about Dogo Onsen Hot Spring as part of Day 2 of my Ehime Matsuyama trip.
Renovation work is scheduled from January 2019 at Dogo Onsen Honkan. So that’s why I decided to visit Ehime Matsuyama, as this should be the last chance for me to see the current Dogo Onsen Honkan building 🙂
In the next article, I will write about light-up of Dogo Onsen Hot Spring as part of Day 2.
