Ehime Matsuyama Trip Part 8: Asuka-no-yu & Dogo Prince Hotel Special Rooms

[Introduction]

I traveled to Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture for three days and two nights in late April. This was my sixth trip to Ehime Matsuyama and I was able to enjoy the trip as my first travel since I changed my camera and lens. In this article, I will write about Asuka-no-yu & Dogo Prince Hotel special rooms as part of Day 3.

Dogo Onsen Hot Spring CHAHARU (茶玻瑠)

It was the third day, the final day, of Ehime Matsuyama trip. To begin with, I will have breakfast at “Dogo Onsen Hot Spring CHAHARU (茶玻瑠)” where I stayed. The main dining of the hotel was “La Cuisine Japonaise Hari (玻璃)”.

In the restaurant, art works of “Mika Ninagawa × Dogo Onsen DOGO ART 2015” have been continuously exhibited.

The breakfast was served as a buffet style.

I checked out the hotel.

To give my impressions of “Dogo Onsen Hot Spring CHAHARU (茶玻瑠)”, I was overall satisfied with it. First of all, the hotel was conveniently located near Dogo Onsen Honkan. The hotel had modern Japanese taste and the hotel staff were full of hospitality. There are a variety of accommodations in Dogo Onsen and I think “Dogo Onsen Hot Spring CHAHARU (茶玻瑠)” would be a good choice among them.

Asuka-no-yu (飛鳥乃湯泉)

I will start to go around Dogo Onsen. Unfortunately, the weather forecast predicted it was going to rain soon.

I will take a bath at “Asuka-no-yu (飛鳥乃湯泉)”.

“Asuka-no-yu (飛鳥乃湯泉)” was opened in December 2017 as an annex facility of Dogo Onsen Honkan. Since it was built after I visited Ehime Matsuyama last time, taking a bath at “Asuka-no-yu (飛鳥乃湯泉)” was one of my main objectives to visit Ehime Matsuyama this time.

There were four courses to take a bath at “Asuka-no-yu (飛鳥乃湯泉)” and I chose “private room on the second floor” course.

“Asuka-no-yu (飛鳥乃湯泉)” had five different types of private rooms and I used “Tamano-ishi-no-ma (玉之石の間)”.

After taking a bath, tea and snack were provided.

I left “Asuka-no-yu (飛鳥乃湯泉)” and found it had already started to rain.

Dogo Prince Hotel Special Rooms

I came to Dogo Prince Hotel.

In Dogo Prince Hotel, there were several kinds of special rooms related to art events. Although I have been there before, I will watch them again.

By the way, the hotel seemed to promote Mican and there was a box with Mican to collect guest survey.

Part 1: Mican Room

First, “Mican Room”.

Regarding “Mican Room”, I visited it two years ago.

The room was filled with lots of Mican.

If you like Mican and have a plan to visit Ehime Matsuyama, I would recommend you visit “Mican Vice Governor’s Office” and “Mican Center” at Ehime Prefectural Government Office as well (see the related article).

Part 2: TSUBAKI

Next, “TSUBAKI”, an art room designed by Mika Ninagawa.

This room was developed as part of “Mika Ninagawa × Dogo Onsen DOGO ART 2015” and just like “Mican Room”, I had visited it before.

Part 3: Rakuen (楽園)

Last but not least, I watched “Rakuen (楽園)”, another art room designed by Ellie Omiya.

This room was developed as part of “Dogo ONSENART 2018”.

Overall, the room was pop and vivid atmosphere.

There were also her art books in the room.

Then, I took a photo of the hotel van with Mican and left Dogo Prince Hotel.

Regarding “Asuka-no-yu (飛鳥乃湯泉)”, it was a newly designed facility with combined atmosphere of modern and traditional taste. I think visitors will find different charm with Dogo Onsen Honkan.

As for special rooms in Dogo Prince Hotel, each room had its unique feature. When visitors watch them in combination, they will be given some discount for admission. It would be a good idea to watch them especially in rainy days just like this time.
